Patrick Vieira
Patrick Vieira can reflect on a trophy-laden soccer career that includes winning both the World Cup and Euro 2000 with the French national team, whom he later also captained.
The Senegalese-born star enjoyed his main club success with English team Arsenal, including captaining the side to the league title during an historic, unbeaten season.
He finished his career at Manchester City in 2011, and is now Football Development Executive at the English club.
Vieira was appointed FAO Goodwill Ambassador in May 2010. “I commit myself to draw everybody's attention to the right to food of…everyone in the world," he said.
His contributions have included raising awareness of the Professional Football Against Hunger campaign, during an address to the major European football forum, Soccerex. |
