Raoul Bova

Raoul Bova has become one of Italy’s most popular and successful actors since his acclaimed debut film Una storia Italiana (An Italian Story).

He has appeared in numerous cinema and TV films, including Francesca e Nunziata with Sophia Loren and Il Sindaco (The Mayor) with Anthony Quinn and Susannah York.

Bova’s talent was recognized with the President's Award for Best Actor for his role in the film La Finestra di Fronte (The Front Window). Meanwhile the American-made film Under the Tuscan Sun opened his profile to a wider audience.

Bova was appointed an FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2010 and has supported the Organization’s EndingHunger campaign and the Hunger Run.

"The hungry are doomed twice over if their condition is relegated to silence and obscurity,” he said.

Bova is also an Ambassador for the Youth and United Nations Global Alliance (YUNGA) initiative led by FAO, which involves children and youth in environmental issues such as climate change and biodiversity.
