On 20 May 2011, FAO hosted the forth edition of the debating tournament between the French and Italian schools in Rome, within the framework of the World Food Day 2010 theme "Food prices - From crisis to stability" and “ending hunger campaign”. Each team of four students prepared a debate presenting their arguments and rebutting their opponents’ questions: this House would limit meat consumption in order to ensure food security; this House believes that biofuels represent a threat to food security; this House believes that biofuels are a threat to forests and therefore increase global warming. Mr. Louis Gagnon, Assistant Directeur de Cabinet, Office of the Director-General, FAO, made an intervention on FAO’s work and awarded the students.
On this occasion the students signed the petition against hunger.
