On the evening of 17 October the Candlelight Vigil walk, with the participation of Government officials, Diplomats, agriculture experts, and invited guests, started at Mango Park, Lake Tana. About two thousand people joined the commemoration. This was colorful and well-attended observation of the "Stand Up Against Poverty" procession which was held as part of the global campaign celebrated from 17 to 19 October.
