“Walk for Food”

The FAO’s “Run for Food” was adapted as “Walk for Food”. About 1500 people participated in a 6 km walk on Saturday, 18 October 2008 which began at the El-Wak Stadium in Accra and ended at the grounds of the Ghana Irrigation Development Authority in Accra. Among the participants were staff of FAO and WFP, Ministry of Food and Agriculture and Amen Amen Institution. At the end of the walk, brief messages on the theme were given by Mr. Fernando Salinas, Acting FAO Representative and Hon. Mrs Anna Nyamekye, Deputy Minister for Food and Agriculture in charge of Livestock.
