Chucho Valdés, FAO Goodwill Ambassador

The famous Cuban pianist and FAO Goodwill Ambassador, Jesús "Chucho" Valdés, announced that he is composing a piece dedicated to the Haitian population.

"I am composing the piece which is called "Haití Volverá"; and I will start to assembly it with my band, to record and to bring it to the attention of the world".

The jazz pianist, winner of 6 Grammy awards and other important international laurels, affirmed that the recording rights of this piece will be donated to restore the devastated Caribbean country.

"But this is not enough. I will collaborate with FAO in everything which is needed, to serve the cause of Haiti through our artistic work, and to help the population to come out of this incredible catastrophe".

From his investiture as FAO Goodwill Ambassador in 2006, Chucho Valdés participated in several initiatives of the Organization like the TeleFood concerts.
