Ministry of National Food Security and Research, Government of Pakistan will observe World Food Day (WFD)on 16 October 2012 at the premises of National Agricultral Research Centre (NARC). Minister of State for National Food Security will be the Chief Guest.

An exhibition will also be organized by the NARC outside the Auditorium where main function will take place. Messages from the President, Prime Minister of Pakistan, Director-General FAO and Executive Director WFP will be read-out. Minister of State will deliver speech on the theme of the World Food Day. FAO WFD Video will be shown during the function. On the occasion of WFD, launching of AAN (Almuni Associations Network) will be announced by the FAO Representative. The idea of the AAN will be to keep a link between FAO, leading farmers and organization.
