“Friday was a great day at Majuro’s Local Market. Lots of people and plenty of food to try and buy. The occasion was World Food Day, and the topic “food security” — which is a fancy way of talking about how to make sure that people have adequate amounts of food that they can afford. The Ministry of Resources and Development, together with the Taiwan Embassy, local farmers and entrepreneurs organized the event. Ministry of Health took advantage of the gathering to offer diabetes and blood pressure testing.
