The event WFD Observance was presided over by H.E. Chan Tong Yves, Secretary of State, on behalf of H.E. Dr. Chan Sarun, Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). He was joined by Ms Nina Brandstrup, FAO Representative, Mr Jean-Pierre de Margerie, WFP Country Director and Mr Christian Albrecht, DGRV Representative for Southeast Asia. There were about 600 participants including development partner representatives, senior government officials from different Ministries of the Royal Government of Cambodia, community-based organizations, NGOs, farmer’s associations, the media and students from the host university. The observance took place in the Royal University of Agriculture, Phnom Penh on 26 October 2012 and it was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) in collaboration with FAO, WFP and the DGRV Representative for Southeast Asia.

The guests visited the food processing facilities of the university followed by the screening of videos, and a visit to the agricultural cooperatives' exhibition. Thereafter, the official event took place with welcoming remarks delivered by the Deputy Director General of the General Directorate of Agriculture followed by remarks by the representatives of DGRV, WFP, FAO and the keynote address by the Secretary of State of MAFF.

WFD/TeleFood 2012 Leaflets, Fact sheets of FAO projects in Cambodia. The Leaflets of WFD/TeleFood 2012 and Fact sheets of FAO projects in Cambodia were produced and distributed widely to all participants during the WFD/TeleFood 2012 event.

Video spots from FAO Headquarters and the Agricultural Extension Department, MAFF. The video spot received from FAO Headquarters under the theme of "Agricultural Cooperatives: Key to Feeding the World" and a video spot under the theme of "Laser Land Levelling and Cooperatives' activities" produced by the Department of Agricultural Extension, MAFF were shown just before the opening of the event
T-shirts and caps. About 300 T-shirts and caps were provided to invitees of line ministries, government officials and NGOs.
