A World Food Day event was held on 23 October 2012 in Taedonggang Diplomatic Club in Pyongyang. Journée mondiale de l'alimentation 2012 - Burkina Faso
La pertinence du thème de la JMA 2012 a guidé le Gouvernement à coupler la célébration de cette journée à la 27ème Journée du CILSS pour solliciter plus d'engagement de la part de ses partenaires techniques et financiers dans le financement de l'agriculture à travers les coopératives agricoles et la mise en place des infrastructures de stockage. World Food Day commemoration in Nepal
The World Food Day was celebrated, Right Honourable Prime Minister and Minister for Agriculture Development inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. He also distributed prize with certificate to among the outstanding farmers of the country as a whole. World Food Day commemoration in Cook Islands
Punanga Nui Market organized by Ministry of Agricultureon 19 October The Ministry of Agriculture cultivated and sold a variety of vegetables (tomatoes, cabbage, chinese cabbage, silverbeet, lettuce, eggplants, radish, watermelon, courgettes, capsicums, beans), roots (taro, sweet potatoes, yams), and fruits (papaya, bananas) crops at discount prices. Fruit tree seedlings were also sold. The Ministry of Health also took part in the observance emphasising the health benefits of healthy eating; and several private businesses and farmer organizations displayed small machinery and products for agricultural use and crop production and management. World Food Day commemoration in Cook Islands
The Cook Islands celebrated World Food Day on Friday 19th of October, 2012 at the Punanga Nui Market place in Avarua, Rarotonga. The global observance fell on the 16th of October however the Ministry decided to hold this on the Friday. The theme for 2012 is “Agricultural Cooperatives : Key to feeding the world”.
