World Food Day commemoration in Mongolia

World Food Day commemoration in United States
During the Closing Ceremony of the International Year of Cooperatives, 19 -20 November 2012, was observed the WFD. This provided the opportunity for high visibility for WFD with the participation of Ms. Marcela Villarreal, Acting Director, Office for Communication, Partnerships and Advocacy, and Ms. Nora Ourabah Haddad, RIPE Team Leader and Technical Officer, Gender, Equity and Rural Employment Division, who took part in the Closing Ceremony. Día Mundial de la Alimentación en Costa Rica
El 7 de noviembre se realizará el Seminario Internacional Celebración Año de las Cooperativas; en dicho evento se reconocerá la labor de las cooperativas de la región en el marco de la celebración del Año Internacional de las Cooperativas; se dará a conocer las experiencias analizadas de cooperativas de varios países de la región y se presentará y entregará un libro que recoge las experiencias analizadas en reconocimiento a la labor que las cooperativas realizan.

World Food Day commemoration in Guyana
World Food Day official Ceremony Official ceremony with the delivery of the DG’s message for WFD by the FAO Representative and remarks by the Minister of Agriculture, followed by an exhibition depicting various aspects of agricultural production in Guyana by the different divisions of the Ministry of Agriculture. Lesotho Hunger Walk 2012
FAO, in partnership with WFP, organized yesterday, Sunday 28 October 2012, a Hunger Walk in Maseru, to raise awareness on the hunger issue in the Kingdom, with the view of “stopping hunger in its cracks”, notably through partnership, cooperation and increased investment into agriculture. The walk was graced and led by the Prime Minister of Lesotho, the Right Honourable Thomas Thabane, with attendance from several cabinet ministers, government officials, development partners, farmer union representatives, and the general public. The World Food Day was observed in 20 primary and high schools in the Northern districts, 30 business houses, 6 women groups cooking local food, a mini symposium on the need for rural financing. World Food Day commemoration in Cambodia
The event WFD Observance was presided over by H.E. Chan Tong Yves, Secretary of State, on behalf of H.E. Dr. Chan Sarun, Minister for Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF). He was joined by Ms Nina Brandstrup, FAO Representative, Mr Jean-Pierre de Margerie, WFP Country Director and Mr Christian Albrecht, DGRV Representative for Southeast Asia.
