General Fisheries Commission for the Mediterranean - GFCM

In the Mediterranean and the Black Sea, the COVID-19 pandemic has exposed the vulnerabilities of the fisheries and aquaculture sector but also its strengths.

The GFCM, together with experts and stakeholders from across the region, held a series of discussions on promoting the sector’s resilience. In particular, the discussions provided insights on the impacts of COVID-19 and identified effective responses that could guide a way forward for the sector, facilitating its adaptation to global changes.
