Call for submissions to the Registry of Tools for forest monitoring

The Global Forest Observations Initiative (GFOI) is compiling a Registry of Tools available to support countries in forest monitoring activities.

The tool will be considered for inclusion within this registry if it:

- is a software which can be used within a National Forest Monitoring Systems (NFMS) and associated measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) procedures

- complies with the GFOI’s Methods and Guidance Documentation (MGD) and is capable of addressing specific REDDcompass actions.

GFOI partners and any stakeholders who are developing such tools are encouraged to undertake the following steps by 10 April:

- complete the GFOI’s Criteria for Consistently Assessing Levels of Maturity (CALM) framework for the tool (~30-45 minutes) and submit the results to [email protected]

- provide relevant information about thetool via the available form (~20-25 minutes)

If you are not the point of contact for the tool you would like to propose for inclusion, please forward this email to the appropriate point of contact and copy  [email protected].

Once completed, the Registry of Tools will be hosted on REDDcompass, the online platform for MDG. The Registry of Tools is an activity developed under the GFOI Data Coordination (Data) Component, in response to the steady expansion in the number of tools available in recent times.
