The GIAHS Secretariat will hold a workshop to share experiences of implementing measures in action plans among GIAHS sites and consider how GIAHS holding countries can best execute monitoring. The workshop will take place in Rome, FAO HQ, from 29^th to 30^th of June.

The objective of this workshop is to share experiences of implementing measures in action plans among the North African Oasis GIAHS sites and seek key elements for monitoring mechanisms. The specific objectives are as follows:

• Share experiences of GIAHS sites related to oasis agriculture in effective implementation of the action plan and monitoring;
• Share experiences and lessons learned by China and Japan, as leading countries of action plan implantation and monitoring;
• Enhance the capacity of government officers from the invited GIAHS sites to implement action plans effectively and to promote monitoring of the GIAHS sites; and
• Establish a partnership network for the Oasis GIAHS agriculture.
