Central America: Prospects for the 2014 main season cereal production deteriorated with dry weather in July. Large numbers of small farmers affected
 
 The outlook for the 2014 main season de primera cereal and bean crops in El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua has deteriorated with prolonged dry weather in July, that damaged crops in the final stage of development.

 Severe localized crop losses are reported in the area known as the “Dry Corridor” of Central America, where a large number of subsistence farmers are affected.

 Governments of the subregion have started to distribute food as well as agriculture inputs for planting of the second de postera crop season.
