FAO/WHO GIFT Individual quantitative food consumption data inventory

The map provides information on known individual quantitative food consumption data worldwide.

The data presented on the map were identified through an inventory made by the Food and Nutrition Division (ESN) of FAO in partnership with the Global Dietary Database at Tufts University and the Nutrition and Metabolism Section at the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), building on their previous work in this field.

Focus was first exclusively given to individual food consumption data available in low and lower middle-income countries. The inventory is now being extended to include datasets available in other countries.

This map will be updated on a regular basis based on literature review, internet searches and information provided by key informants, to cover new surveys that are underway and to update information such as the name of the contact persons.

Please write to [email protected] if you are aware of a survey conducted in a low or lower-middle income country which is not yet in the map or if you notice any inaccurate information.
