Fourth meeting of the Asian Soil Laboratory Network (SEALNET)

Laboratories in SEALNET meet yearly to revise their work plan and position within GLOSOLAN.

Due to the COVID19 pandemic, the fourth meeting of the Asian Soil Laboratory Network (SEALNET) was held online, from 30 June to 2 July 2020.

The purposes of the meeting were:

  • Inform Asian laboratories on GLOSOLAN progresses and way forward
  • Train soil laboratories in health and safety
  • Train laboratories in internal and external quality control
  • Train laboratories on the interpretation of laboratory data
  • Define the position of SEALNET in GLOSOLAN

About 280 laboratory staff members from 18 Asian countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Lao PDR, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam) met to discuss soil laboratory analysis. The meeting was co-organized by the Global Soil Partnership (FAO) and IRD France, with the contribution of ASPAC Australia.
