The 10th ITPS working session focused on preparing the 2019-2020 workplan. The main highlights of the session were: agreement that ITPS will produce at least two science-policy articles in top journals as a way to increase the visibility of the ITPS work; preparation of global maps (i.e. soil erosion, soil salinity and soil organic carbon sequestration potential); strategy for the global assessments on soil biodiversity (in vision of the launch of the 'Status of Knowledge on Soil Biodiversity Assessment Report') and soil pollution (ongoing 'Assessment of the Global Status and Regional Trends of Soil Pollution'); cooperation with other UN panels, particularly the Science-Policy Interface (SPI) of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD); organization of the Global Symposium on Soil Biodiversity (GSOBI20) on 10 - 12 March 2020.
