Capacity building on digital soil mapping in the NENA region
The Global Soil Partnership and the sub-regional FAO office for North Africa are conducting a training workshop on digital soil mapping of salt-affected soils in Tunis, Tunisia. More than 20 representatives from 13 countries of the Near East and North Africa region are attending the workshop.

The training aims to improve national capacities in digital soil mapping and salinity assessment. The curriculum includes preparation and harmonization of soil data and environmental covariates, and spatial modelling of salinity indicators with R.
The national maps produced during the training will contribute to the Global Soil Salinity map (GSSmap).
