Running an event for World Soil Day 2020?

This year the World Soil Day - 5 December communication campaign will focus on soil biodiversity with the slogan ‘Keep soil alive, Protect soil biodiversity’. Combined action across 140 countries is what makes World Soil Day one of the most successful days of the UN calendar. Hundreds of events and outreach activities bring together governments, businesses, scientists, NGOs, the media, youth and general public. Millions are already engaged in promoting worldwide awareness and action for healthy soils for all.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, this is not going to be an ordinary World Soil Day. Each year, states, districts, institutes, universities, schools, and families around the world hold hundreds of events to celebrate World Soil Day. A WSD event can be anything from a one on one presentation with a friend, to a Soil Action simulation in a class, to a Soil quiz or a Workshop for a large audience. If you’re planning to participate in WSD 2020 on 5 December, please add your event to the interactive global map.
