Join GLOSOLAN and complete the online Soil Labs survey!

Available until 30 March 2018

On 1 – 2 November 2017, the Global Soil Laboratory Network (GLOSOLAN) was formally established under the umbrella of the Global Soil Partnership's Pillar 5, which focuses on the harmonization of methods, measurements, and indicators for the sustainable management and protection of soil resources.

10/02/2018GLOSOLAN is an open network to which all lab managers wishing to share knowledge and experience on soil analysis and data interpretation - at the purpose of harmonizing soil laboratory analysis and promote the exchange of soil data globally - can participate. GLOSOLAN is the only programme in the world designed to strengthen the performance of laboratories in support of the harmonization of soil data sets and information towards the development of global standards. The harmonization of soil analysis is a crucial component of: 1) making soil information, analytical laboratory and technology services comparable, exchangeable, and interpretable across laboratories, countries and regions; 2) building on a set of agreed harmonization principles; 3) improving quality control and assurance of soil analyses; 4) promoting information and experience exchange to develop capacities wherever needed. Among the activities for immediate execution of GLOSOLAN there is the global assessment of soil laboratories’ needs and the identification of those who can support others to improve their performance. In fact, in order for the GLOSOLAN to be implemented, information on soil laboratories globally is needed. This online survey was prepared by the GLOSOLAN working group to identify laboratories’ needs and to help delineate the roadmap for the GLOSOLAN in terms of main outputs, specific objectives and detailed activities. This is the first of a series of surveys launched by the GLOSOLAN to collect information on soil laboratories and keep the work of the network centered on a bottom-up approach. Please visit https://surveyhero.com/c/7ed318b4 to access and complete the survey. Each soil laboratory should not fill more than one survey. Kindly note that there is no need to be a member of the GLOSOLAN to answer the survey. The online survey will be open until 30 March 2018. How to join the GLOSOLAN?
