World River Sediments Yields Database

This is a new site of the FAO which provides data on annual sediment yields on a global scale. The site is searchable by rainfall, sediment yield, river, country and continent.

AQUASTAT

Aquastat is a database of the FAO with a variety of information on freshwater utilization, such as climate, water resources, maps and irrigation. A bibliography is also given. The site is available in French as well as Spanish.

NOAA National Oceanographic Data Center (NODC)

The NODC is one of three National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration (NOAA) environmental data centres. Connections to a variety of databases are available such as the International Ocean Atlas Series and the International Data Exchange. Information on tides, marine sediments, fisheries and weather is also given.

Global Hydrological Data Databases - World Meteorological Organization

This site of HR Wallingford offers a list and links of a large number of environmental databases, including ones on crops, water balance, wind atlases and runoff data.

Oceanography Data

This site of MIT offers connections to databases. Also available are pictures/maps, including ones of global annual mean radiation and Gulf Stream rates.

ReefBase Homepage

This site contains a database, including a GIS database on coral reefs and associated shallow water habitats. An upload section for submitting data also exists.
