| The
GTOS programme has close liaisons with the Global Climate
Observing System (GCOS) and
the Global Ocean Observing System (GOOS).
Joint panels, listed below, link areas of shared interest
within the Global Observing Systems.
The co-sponsors (FAO, UNEP, UNESCO, WMO and ICSU) of the Global
Observing Systems have formed a Sponsors
Group that develops a common strategy for programme implementation.
Both the joint panels and the Sponsors Group ensure collaboration
and information exchange among the systems.
In addition GTOS works closely in collaboration with a number
of international initiatives and activities, including the
Group on Earth Observations
(GEO), international Conventions
and different observing networks and programmes (see the activity
section for details).
