The GTOS Steering Committee (GTSC) assists in the implementation
of the terrestrial observing system and advises the co-sponsors
and the Secretariat on the technical content and direction
of the programme. It also establishes and updates the programme
requirements, reviews the effectiveness of existing programmes
and recommends new initiatives.
