Forest Cover Implementation Team Inaugural Meeting
11-13, 2002 - hosted by CNES
The objective of the Implementation Team meeting will
be to develop a two-year plan of activities which prototype
an operational forest and land cover monitoring system
using both satellite and in situ observations. They
will identify current projects and programs that can
contribute and new initiatives that need to be started.
In addition to the Forest Cover Characteristics and
Changes Implementation Team , the meeting will include
representatives from other GOFC-GOLD implementation
Teams, Regional Networks and the director. Additional
representatives from CEOS, GTOS, FAO, ASIACOVER, and
the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment will attend so as
to help connect and coordinate Implementation Team activities
with the larger research framework.
