The
CCBN mission is to help develop the technical means for
the protection and restoration of life on this planet while
helping to raise ecological awareness in the public and
academic community.
The
Convention on Biological Diversity was signed by over 150
governments at the Rio "Earth Summit" in 1992.
It has become the centre-piece of international efforts
towards environmental conservation and management.
INBio
inventories Costa Rica's biodiversity, publicizes its findings
and promotes the non-destructive use of its natural resources
by the commercial world. The site also serves as network
for other biodiversity management institutions.
