Development
of a mountain module in TEMS
GTOS is currently
developing a Mountain Module in the Terrestrial Ecosystem Monitoring
Sites (TEMS) database. The module will be developed in collaboration
with the Mountain Group (FORC) of the Food and Agriculture Organization
of the United Nations (FAO) under the direction of Thomas Hofer.
The objective of the Mountain Module is to facilitate
access to mountain relevant data and information. The module will
contain networks and sites, relevant to the mountain issues. In
addition, it will provide a list of primary indicators, data holders,
links and maps. This module will allow users (scientific community,
policy makers and the broad public) to search sites which are specific
to mountain issues and will link global environmental and socio-economic
data for mountain ecosystems.
If you have relevant information, data or links
or would like to be involved in the development of the mountain
module please contact the GTOS Secretariat.
Existing TEMS
modules can be viewed at: www.fao.org/gtos/tems/modules.jsp
