GTOS and GLCN at the Partnership Fair of the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS): On the move to 2010

The GTOS and the GLCN Secretariats have the pleasure to announce that they will participate in the Partnership Fair to be held on Sunday 20 November (Nairobi, Kenya) on the occasion of the opening of the Eighth Meeting of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Migratory Species (CMS).

Participation in this event will raise awareness on GTOS/GLCN’s potential role, and interest, in facilitating the provision of essential data on major threats to migratory species and obstacles to migration, ensuring that the conservation and management of migratory species is based on the best available in situ and remote sensing data and information.

The presentation “Mapping on the move: the GTOS/GLCN Approach” will illustrate how GTOS and GLCN can support the work of CMS towards the achievement of Target 2010, with particular reference to the issues of climate change and land dynamics, and capacity development of data provision and management.

Information on GTOS and GLCN initiatives will be available for the participants.
