New Chairman of the Terrestrial Observation Panel for Climate (TOPC)

Dear Colleagues,

We have the pleasure to inform you that Prof Han Dolman from the Faculty of Earth and Life Sciences of Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam has been appointed as the new Chairman of the joint Terrestrial Observation Panel for Climate (TOPC) of the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) and of the Global Terrestrial Observing System (GTOS). Prof Dolman will continue to lead the Panel in its support of observational and technical requirements of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the outgoing Chairman, Dr Alan Belward, for his outstanding efforts and achievements during his term from January 2002 to January 2007.
