| This regional report on the Forestry Outlook Study for Africa provides an overview of the potentials and challenges for enhancing the contribution of the forest sector to Africa's sustainable development, taking into account the policy and institutional, demographic, economic, technological and environmental changes. Examining the impact of the driving forces and probable scenarios, it gives an indication of what may happen up to the year 2020 if the present trends persist.
