Agricultural Integrated Survey Programme - AGRISurvey

FAO and Cambodia organized Training of Trainers for national Agricultural Survey 2020

News - 15.12.2020

FAO, through its AGRISurvey programme, joined forces with Cambodia’s National Institute of Statistics of the Ministry of Planning (NIS) and the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) to organize the Training of Trainers (ToT) for the Cambodia Agricultural Survey 2020. The ToT was successfully delivered from 23 to 27 November, and then from 07 to 09 December, with the aim of strengthening statistical capacity of government officials in collecting data for the upcoming 2020 national agricultural survey. The ToT was attended by more than 140 NIS and MAFF staff who will hold the function of data supervisors, field supervisors or juridical holding survey enumerators during the CAS 2020 survey.

The Training of Trainers is part of the capacity development activities organized in the context of FAO’s AGRISurvey programme, to support Cambodia in strengthening the capacity, ownership and autonomy of its agricultural statistical system and in creating an efficient data collection system. Trained field supervisors and data supervisors will in turn be in charge with the implementation of the enumerator training in each of the 25 provinces in Cambodia, prior to start of the actual survey. To implement the activities in Cambodia, AGRISurvey receives financial support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
