World Bank encourages Dominican Republic to initiate reforms to activate growth

According to data from the World Bank, the Caribbean country has had one of the strongest growth rates in Latin America and the Caribbean in the last 25 years.

Alessandro Legrottaglie, World Bank Resident Representative in the Dominican Republic, recommends the country to implement tax reforms in order for the country to continue growing. 

“The Dominican Republic continues to grow rapidly and has been met with a generally favorable external environment. In order to face the challenge of making this growth even more inclusive, the country must implement reforms in regard to taxes, productive inclusion, resilience, and environmental sustainability,” Legrottaglie stated.
