Sales of Mexico-grown Christmas trees boost rural economy
National Forestry Commission (Conafor) specialist, Silvia Murillo Cardoza, discussed their market value and profitability

A specialist from the National Forestry Commission (Conafor) in Jalisco, Silvia Murillo Cardoza, pointed out that the planting of Christmas trees in Mexico has an important profitability and contributes to improving the economy of the rural environment, as it brings "economic, environmental and social benefits".
The consumption of Christmas trees produced in Mexico also provide other environmental advantages such as carbon capture, rainwater collection and soil retention.
