Ecuador and Nicaragua Strengthen Commercial Ties

Once fully applied, this agreement will open up markets on both sides as well as increase the stability and predictability of the trade.

Ecuador and Nicaragua have strengthened their commercial ties by signing an agreement that grants preferential tariffs and eliminates restrictions on a large group of products with potential sales in the two countries.
According to the Ecuadorean Foreign Ministry, Nicaragua granted benefits to this country to export tuna, chewing gum, chocolate, candy and jam, white goods, wooden furniture, paper and steel products, among others.
At the same time, Nicaragua will enjoy preferences to export cigars, rum, tires, scales, milking machines and for the cheese industry, seeds, machinery and food-processing equipment, natural honey and motorcycles.
