Eleven Caribbean Ministers of Agriculture go on tour

They seek to improve access to technology and food cooperation for their countries, in a mission led by Manuel Otero from Argentina, Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).

Eleven agriculture ministers from Caribbean countries will begin a tour of Brazil and Argentina tomorrow in order to improve their access to technology and cooperation in the food sector, on a mission led by Manuel Otero from Argentina, Director General of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). The mission led by IICA will include the participation of Ministers from Haiti, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Dominica, Guyana, and Suriname.

The Brazilian government reported that it will show Caribbean ministers and deputy ministers - from vulnerable countries in terms of food security and the effects of climate change - plans for successful soil recovery, accumulation of fresh water for irrigation and adaptation of seeds to different climates.
