FAO interviewed Mr. Musa Bayo, NEMA (National Agricultural Land & Water Management Development Project) Field Coordinator from Gambia. He explains how the NEMA project, funded by IFAD, integrates climate change adaptation and mitigation. He describes the irrigation systems used in Gambia to mitigate climate change impacts and how training is key to raise awareness about climate change among farmers, especially among women and the youth.
