Analysis of spatio-temporal variability of water productivity in Ethiopian sugar estates: using open access remote sensing source

The study maps the seasonal and spatial variability of agricultural water productivity of sugarcane in three large irrigation schemes of Ethiopia using WaPOR data. The objective is to understand which part of the schemes are faring better than others over the span of 10 years.

Influence of Spatial Resolution on Remote Sensing-Based Irrigation Performance Assessment Using WaPOR Data

The study looks at three different irrigation performance indicators: adequacy, equity, and productivity across the three WaPOR data resolutions to assess the impact of spatial scale on the performance of these indicators on small and medium-scale agricultural areas. Drought observe: near-real-time drought monitoring for Africa using FAO WaPOR datasets

The monitoring system uses WaPOR's bio-physical indicators in conjunction with rainfall data to detect drought-induced vegetation stress. It outputs near real-time high-resolution spatial maps of drought intensities over Africa in, so far, three countries: Kenya, Ethiopia, and Mozambique. This project makes use of AI.

Estimating reservoir evaporation: fusing Kohli and Frenken method and the FAO’s WaPOR Product

Validation and calibration of FAO's WaPOR product (actual evapotranspiration) in Iran using in-situ measurements

This study focuses on the Zayanderoud basin in Iran and aims to calibrate and validate WaPOR evapotranspiration (AETI) data using a scintillometer, an instrument that measures variations in temperature, humidity, and pressure, all parameters that influence evapotranspiration. In addition to that, they estimate AETI over different land uses in the region.

Water Productivity and Sugar Cane Production
