Creación de capacidades para la seguridad alimentaria

Sub-national training workshops on how to better integrate nutrition into food security programming

From 29/09/2015 To 08/10/2015
Location: Yambio & Aweil , South-Sudan

Two sub-national training workshops are planned in South Sudan: in Yambio from 29 November to 1st October and in Aweil 6-8 October 2015.

The Sub-national Training Workshops will build the capacity of governments and humanitarian field practitioners on how to better integrate nutrition into food security programming. These events are opportunities to strengthen skills in needs assessment, design, implementation and M&E of integrated nutrition and food security interventions, and to share experience on successful (and less successful) practices in the region for a diversity of food security and nutrition interventions (agriculture, cash, livestock, markets etc.).

The trainings will be carried out by the Training of Trainers (ToTs) from South Sudan, who took part in the Regional Training Workshop on Integration of Nutrition and Food Security Programming and Training of Trainers Sessions from 24 February to 1 March 2014 in Nairobi. Similar trainings were conducted in Wau, WBeG (26-28 November 2014) and Kuajoc, Warrap ( 2-4 December 2014) and the need to replicate in other states was emphasized

Who can attend? We are looking forward to gathering government and humanitarian nutrition and food security professionals working in emergency and resilience-building programming in Western Equatoria and Northern Bahr el Ghazal. The participants representing the agencies must be technical or programme staff; the agency must be implementing in at least one of the sectors (Food security or Nutrition), but preference will be given to those who implement both Food Security and Nutrition; and the agency must be a member of Food Security cluster or Nutrition cluster. The selected participants must attend the whole three days.

Kindly note that the space is limited to 25 per workshop. The specific venues in Yambio and Aweil will be communicated soon.
