Strengthening resilience in Burkina Faso - Workshop on integration of the nutritional aspects

The FAO Regional Office in Dakar, the Red Cross, the FAO Office in Burkina Faso, as well as the GRET, HKI, the Direction of Nutrition and the Executive Secretariat for Food Security (SE-CNSA) organised in Burkina Faso, in the Sahel region (Dori), a training workshop on Integrating nutrition and food security programmes in emergency situations and for resilience building.

This workshop, which took place from 17 to 19 February 2015 has targeted the actors of the Sahel region, of the neighbouring regions, and of the national level. Its aims are to contribute to reducing malnutrition and improving the resilience, thus participating in the AGIR initiative to which the Government of Burkina Faso is committed. This event has been an opportunity to share success (and less successful) stories of integrated nutrition and food security programs in Burkina Faso (i.e. agriculture, money transfer, support to markets, etc.).

The workshop targeted key players in the agriculture, nutrition/health, water and sanitation, social protection, monitoring and evaluation sectors and from different organizations (government, NGOs, UN, cluster members and focal points for AGIR and REACH, etc.).
