What is happening in the field ?

A lot is going on in the field and the countries are all taking action, putting into practice knowledge and methodologies used during the two regional training workshops that were held earlier this year.

After the regional training workshop in Dakar in June, a training workshop on Integrating nutrition and food security programmes in emergency situations has taken place in February 2015. It has gathered key players in the agriculture and nutrition sectors and aimed to participating to the AGIR initiative to which the Government of Burkina Faso is committed.

Following the regional training workshop, the Chad country team conducted two feedback sessions: (i) to the Food Security Cluster on July 16th (25 people attended the session) and (ii) to the Centre National de Nutrition et de Technologie Alimentaire (CNNTA) (internal meeting on June 23rd, 23 people). Two sub-regional workshops are planned before the national forum on nutrition that is to be held from 12th to 14th November 2014. Under the initiative of OXFAM, REACH and the FAO project, these two workshops will be jointly organised with the participants to the regional workshop in Senegal: Guera, 24-26 September; Bar-El-Gazal, 1st -3rd October 2014.
