The Forest and Landscape Restoration Mechanism

TRI Webinar on Harmonized Monitoring and Evaluation

09/07/2019

The FLRM held a webinar for the involved countries of The Restoration Initiative (TRI) programme to discuss the “Harmonized Monitoring and Evaluation of TRI” on 9th of July, 2019.

The aims of the session were to explain how to track outcomes and facilitate management, and support the learning and identification of the best practices to the participants. In additional to this, the 9 Core TRI Indicators, which include 5 that are specific to TRI (i.e. policies/regulatory frameworks in TRI countries, number of cross-sectoral planning mechanisms and/or frameworks, value of resources, number of “bankable” restoration projects, and number of TRI products developed). In addition to these, the 4 remaining indicators (i.e. area of land restored (ha), area of landscapes under improved practices, greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions mitigated, and number of direct beneficiaries disaggregated by gender) are supported by the Global Environmental Facility (GEF). This webinar provided its participants with the necessary tools and support to continue the restoration of their forestry and landscapes, and carry on the fulfillment of the FLRM’s ultimate objective.
