16/07/2019

On 16 July 2019, Valentina Garavaglia, from the FLRM team, presented FLRM’s work on past and ongoing initiatives on dryland forests and agrosilvopastoral systems at the inaugural session for the Dryland Forestry and Agrosilvopastoral Systems Working Group, which was attended by over twenty countries from four continents, along with several international non-governmental agencies and United Nations representatives. FLRM’s past and current monitoring, evaluation, restoration and sustainable management aims were discussed, and feedback and questions were welcomed from the attendees. In addition, the countries communicated their advice and experiences with one another in order to facilitate harmonized communication, and efficient planning and implementation of the initiatives. The FLRM has been working on dryland and agrosilvopastoral restoration and conservation since its establishment in 2014, therefore it welcomes the working group’s initiatives and is ready to support its ultimate objective.
