FAO’s session will bring experts and practitioners together to explore how to identify and establish bankable or investible restoration projects to convince restoration investors about the potential and feasibility of restoration beyond the environmental and social impacts. The session will also present several ongoing initiatives/existing tools to provide support to entrepreneurs to develop their sustainable restoration business case.

This half-day Digital Forum, hosted jointly by the Collaborative Partnership on Forests and the Global Partnership on Forest and Landscape Restoration, will bring together restoration practitioners, policymakers, private-sector partners, youth, civil society representatives and scientists to share their insights and perspectives on forest and landscape restoration (FLR) as one of the most promising solutions to land degradation. The forum will explore three important and timely topics:

  • Fighting climate change through resilient forest and landscape restoration;
  • Forest and landscape restoration as an economic enterprise and driver of job creation;
  • The role that FLR can play in conserving the world’s biodiversity.
