The Changing Face of Seafood Marketing in the Arab Gulf States

The seven Arab States which border the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman have long practiced traditional fishing and fish trading. Seafood marketing was carried out with meager facilities. The discovery of oil, growth in the local populations and the influx of expatriates from around the world demanded additional seafood supplies and related products and logistical services. Consequently, these developments introduced new and sophisticated seafood consumption and marketing methods in the last few years. This has led to the changing face of seafood marketing in these Gulfs States.
