Advanced course on Safety Assessment of Seafood Products

The one week course on Safety assessment of seafood products aims to give participants a detailed review of hazards of public health significance covering biological (pathogen bacteria, histamine, viruses, parasites and biotoxins) and chemical (PAH, veterinary drugs, heavy metals, microplastics) contaminants. Standard and innovative methods for detection of these hazards will be described to the 25 partecipants and selected methods will be practised in laboratory exercises.

The course, which will take place 24-28 April 2017 in Derio (Spain), is organized by the International Centre for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM), through the Mediterranean Agronomic Institute of Zaragoza (IAMZ) with the collaboration of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Department of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the IES Escuela Agraria Derio.
