On the occasion of the fourth observance of the International Day for the Fight Against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) Fishing, FAO is organizing the digital talk:

Closing the net on IUU fishing

The talk will focus on the impacts of IUU fishing, on the sustainability of fisheries, on our oceans as well as on the livelihoods of fishers and coastal communities, processors, retailers and consumers who often don’t know where the fish and seafood they buy come from and how it is caught. Webinar Registration - Zoom

The talk will be hosted by Valérie Dekimpe, from France24 and will involve a most interesting and varied panel, that will include:

· a celebrity Chef committed to putting sustainability at the heart of his cuisine Chef Rodrigo Pacheco

· an FAO fisheries expert with a passion for the ocean Kristin Von Kistowski 

· a standards expert who advocates for seafood traceability in Asia and the Pacific Maggie Lee

· an experienced sailor committed to protecting the ocean’s biodiversity Romain Troublé
