European Price Report - October 2018

Year published: 2018

Monthly prices for about 600 fish products and an overview of the major trends on the European market, reported by an extensive correspondent network.

October 2018.

The market is preparing for the Christmas sales period and demand is picking up. Prices are rising both for wild-caught species, such as cod, haddock, herring and octopus, and for aquacultured species such as mussels, oysters and cultured shrimp. Fishing quotas for the most important wild stocks will be reduced in 2019, and this should lead to further price hikes in the opening months of next year.
