Abstract: Together with the week before Easter, December is the year's top consumption period for seafood. Traders know this very well, and all frozen products have usually already reached the market well before the start of the holiday period. As a result, actual trading during this month, at least for frozen seafood, is rather slow, with declining demand and downward trending prices. For fresh products, however, there will be a final rush just before 24 December, sending prices soaring.
