FAO/GIEWS monthly report on recent food price developments at world, regional and country level with focus on developing countries. It includes warnings on countries where prices of one or more basic food commodities are at abnormal high levels, which could negatively impact access to food.

Main highlights of this issue are the weaker international prices of cereals and, at the country level, marked increases in the prices of staple foods in Zimbabwe and the Sudan due to a drop in the value of the local currencies and a shortage of foreign exchange.
