Two members of the TAP Secretariat participated in the third Global Conference on Agricultural Research for Development (GCARD3) to present the Common Framework on Capacity Development (CD) for Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS), developed under the Tropical Agriculture Platform (TAP), and to advocate for the TAP approach. 

Organized by the Global Forum and CGIAR, the conference took place on 5-8 April 2016, in South Africa, and it provided an opportunity for key stakeholders "to come together and decide how agri-food research and innovation systems can best meet the world's development needs".
